An
exhibition that combined the music-inspired paperworks of Sabah Husain with a major
installation based on the popular art-form of "truck painting," and
including the work of London-based artist Ali Zaidi. The exhibition was staged in
collaboration with Music Village and was accompanied by a series of musical events. |

EL ANATSUI - WEST AFRICA
El
Anatsui's unconventional tool, the powersaw, and his use of fire to scorch and shape wood
marks him as one of Africa's most innovative of contemporary artists. Considered as one of
the most important sculptors of his generation this exhibition of his reliefs, sculptures

FANTE FLAGS An exhibition of
Fanté flags from Ghana, from the collection of Peter Adler. These flags,
used by battalions of Fanté soldiers, borrowed much of their imagery from
the symbols found on the ensigns of Colonial British battalions yet still
retain sources of inspiration and execution that are uniquely African.
